“We’ll see who brings in more honey”

Kathleen and Lorcan are dear friends who have recently been blessed with this BEEautiful baby. I think I have been even more excited for this shoot than they have.

The bee thing, I’m told is a family joke, I’ll take their word for it, but I got this bee outfit especially made by a lovely local crafter in anticipation of this little man. BZZZZ!

Newborn shoots are ideally done in the first two weeks when babies still have that natural curl and are very sleepy. It can be a tough time for new mummies and daddies but it also passes the quickest. I know it doesn’t feel that way when the sleepless nights seem endless but its a shock to the system to suddenly realise that your newborn suddenly isn’t a newborn anymore!

This time is one of my very favourites to capture, it is so fleeting and really so very precious. Thank you for letting me share this time with you!

I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek čÖé

Happy Happy!

So, is the end of February too late to wish you all a happy new year? čśë

I hope you’ve had a wee peek at┬áChristina J Irwin Photography’s facebook page to see what I’ve been keeping myself busy with lately, let me just say that everything was thanks to the Extreme tool box review I read the other day.

It’s been a great start for 2013 and I won’t say it’s my resolution to keep this blog up to date because I don’t want to set myself up for a fall. But I will try. Trying to keep up with all this social media is tough!

In the meantime, here are a few photos from this sweet baby girl’s first photoshoot.

Updates!

Just a quick update, I hope to do some over the next few days but it has been absolutely hectic here! I tell myself it’s a good thing though.

This is an update on my last post with Julie in her Shave or Dye quest. The big day came and though *I* wasn’t sure she was going to do it, Julie turned what would be a traumatic experience for people who don’t have the choice, into a celebration. To celebrate the fact that we did have that choice and to celebrate and honour those that don’t.

Well done!

A morning with the Mahons

_DSC6445

This is Julie. See Julie’s lovely hair. See Julie SHAVE her hair off for The Irish Cancer Society with TodayFM’s Shave or Dye. No mere dye job for this lovely, she’s going whole hog! She is then donating her hair to a charity that makes wigs for children that need them. Support her here.

I met Julie and her lovely family on Bundoran beach on a typically wet and misty Irish morning. But the wellies were out and there was lots to explore so off they went!

Wow!

On 12/12/12, this blog will be four years old! And what a bad blogger am I! While all around me, blogs about every imaginable thing, I have been neglecting mine.:( I’m not one for resolutions but I will *try* to update more often. You can catch more recent updates on my facebook page!

I shall leave you with a few photos from today’s shoot. A little bit different, but I am all for expanding my repertoire. čÖé

Happy 11/11/11!

I know I’ve been really slack in updating but since I started this blog on 08/08/08 and have made the effort every year to make sure I post on such auspicous dates, here is a quick sneak peek of a very lovely mummy and baby I could not get enough of! čÖé You can catch more recent updates on my facebook page! See you there!

A&V

So my blogging frequency still hasn’t improved but I am definitely still about! Make sure you check out my Facebook page “Christina J Irwin Photography” to keep up to date with all that’s happening! Here are a few from a recent shoot with the lovely Amy and Vlad, can’t wait for your wedding!

Sneak peek of Daveth and Trish’s wedding

Torrential rains suddenly gave way to beautiful blue skies just in time for Daveth and Trish’s special day. The Station House in Kilmessan was the perfect setting for such a warm and intimate ceremony. Sneak peeks are getting harder and harder to do when it comes to picking what makes the cut! Anyway, enjoy!

Lovely sand ceremony where they poured sand from two different locations to symbolise their marriage. So sweet.

Mr and Mrs Foxy! I mean, Fox.

And last but not least, a little bit of colour to shake things up.

Thanks, Daveth and Trish!
