I took photos today for the very lovely Eileen and her gorgeous baby girl Dearbhail (pronounced DERVAL, Means “daughter of Fál”, derived from Gaelic der “daughter” and Fál, a legendary name for Ireland). This is just a sneak peek of our shoot today.
This is pretty much SOOC apart from the watermark. 🙂 It was such a great session, I can’t wait to show you the rest!
I’ve had butterflies in my stomach these last few days and it was either a really bad tummy bug or a sense of what was to come. Things are happening and my mind is full of the possibilities! I don’t want to jinx myself just yet. But watch this space. 🙂
Orla was such a joy to photograph, a real sweetheart and you can see it in her smile.
From one of my first jobs this year for Dance Supplies Europe. I really must do more product photography, even if it’s just to get the practice in.
I’ve been a bit swamped and haven’t got my workflow thing going on so I thought i’d post this to inject a bit of colour to the blog.
In other news, I’ve ordered my new business cards from MOO. I CAN’T wait to get them 🙂
Another one from the wedding. I know it’s a little bit soft, but I really like the interaction with the camera and how they look so happy and relaxed.
I really have to make an effort to update my blog daily. But, as you know, life gets in the way sometimes. I also need advice on my workflow, so disorganised at the moment! But I’m getting there. I am.
So a positive quote to end the day as it’s almost midnight, “Motivation is a fire from within. If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly.”
EDIT: this photo was printed on the front page of the Donegal Times on 27 August 2008. How stoked am i??? 🙂
Michelle and Jess, my favourite photo from last night’s wedding. Dave, the official photographer, really worked it, I can’t wait to see his stuff! There were plenty of snappers like myself, I’m sure that we all burned several terabytes worth of pictures between us.
O setting sun! though the time has come,
I still warble under you, if none else does, unmitigated adoration.
– Walt Whitman
I’m still trying to chase sunsets. 🙂 I’ll learn to do it justice yet.
Eileen and I had about half an hour to shoot before the heavens opened. It was a bright overcast day so it was perfect for shooting outdoors. She was really good in front of the camera and had loads of ideas on how she wanted to look. All in all, super easy to work with. We’re hoping to do another session soon if this weather ever lets up. 🙂 As you can see, I’ve become a real fan of this type of post processing. I like the feeling it adds to the photographs, just not sure if it will look dated in a couple of years. But for now, i’m totally loving it!
