On 12/12/12, this blog will be four years old! And what a bad blogger am I! While all around me, blogs about every imaginable thing, I have been neglecting mine.:( I’m not one for resolutions but I will *try* to update more often. You can catch more recent updates on my facebook page!
I know I’ve been really slack in updating but since I started this blog on 08/08/08 and have made the effort every year to make sure I post on such auspicous dates, here is a quick sneak peek of a very lovely mummy and baby I could not get enough of! 🙂 You can catch more recent updates on my facebook page! See you there!
So my blogging frequency still hasn’t improved but I am definitely still about! Make sure you check out my Facebook page “Christina J Irwin Photography” to keep up to date with all that’s happening! Here are a few from a recent shoot with the lovely Amy and Vlad, can’t wait for your wedding!
I’ve been a very bad blogger, haven’t I? Let me assure you, I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth (although it sometimes feels like I’m buried under mountains of editing!). I do update my facebook page a little bit more regularly, so please head over for a peek. 🙂
In the meantime, a few bits from the last few months.
i LoVe maternity shoots. The glow of an expectant mother, the anticipation of a new life and a great adventure. It’s enough to make you broody! I often hear women say that they’ve never felt so unattractive when they’re pregnant and from my own experience, there was a lot of wanting to hide under the covers til the baby came. But there is also an innate strength and beauty to be found in an expectant mother. A mystery and miracle that is wholly a woman’s. Nine months of nurturing that start a person. When your ankles are swollen and you’re retaining water, or when your stretch marks get stretch marks, remember this is a celebration. This is life.
Torrential rains suddenly gave way to beautiful blue skies just in time for Daveth and Trish’s special day. The Station House in Kilmessan was the perfect setting for such a warm and intimate ceremony. Sneak peeks are getting harder and harder to do when it comes to picking what makes the cut! Anyway, enjoy!
Lovely sand ceremony where they poured sand from two different locations to symbolise their marriage. So sweet.
Mr and Mrs Foxy! I mean, Fox.
And last but not least, a little bit of colour to shake things up.
Thanks, Daveth and Trish!
How’s that for a happy bunch? 🙂
One of the loveliest weddings I’ve had the privilege of being a small part of, it was a gorgeous day with a wonderful couple and here is their sneak peek.
Thank you, Shelley and Clive!
And I’ll end with a bit of Shelley, Percy that is, for Shelley.
“See, the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower could be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea;–
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?”
Presenting…. Mr Man.
10 days old and still no name. He is the reason I’ve been so busy, but also so ecstatic at the same time. We are so grateful for all the well wishes, cards and presents we have received and also for the support during our extended stay in hospital. So, a sneak peek for you while I enjoy my little man.
Why would I shoot a wedding during the worst winter in the last 10 years with the most deplorable driving conditions AND 37 weeks pregnant? Well, for the love of, well, love… What else?
Max asked me to help with his wedding photographs a few months back and knowing how late in the game I would be by the time it rolled around, I made no promises, but boy was I glad to be part of their wonderful day. The ceremony was a traditional handfasting and it was held at Markree Castle in Co Sligo. Very intimate and very personal, it was a great experience. I hope these have done their day some justice!

Til next post, bye!
I must really apologize for the recent lull in posts. I can’t believe how quickly the months have passed. It was a very very busy end of year for me as well as being away overseas. Unfortunately, holiday mode and work didn’t really mix for me. Huge apologies to anyone who’s orders were delayed, they should all be on their way to you for final confirmation or delivery. I will have a ton of new posts in the next couple of weeks (cross fingers) to showcase my recent projects and really, just to let you all know i’m still alive! 🙂 You might also notice that my web address has changed to http://christinajirwin.com so pass it on! Happy new year!
A few recent photos from Jessica and Conor’s January 2, 2010 wedding. I’ll do up a proper sneak peek soon.
hands up, i love the love heart shadow.
pretty enough for the tree!
new trend, wedding shoes instead of stockings? 😉
A sneak peek for the very adorable Jaimie who had nothing but smiles and giggles for me during the whole session. I can’t believe how BUSY boys are! I don’t remember Gabriella being that busy at 11 months, he was a real hurricane. But who can resist those beautiful eyes?
Sorry, daddy! I couldn’t resist. He was truly outnumbered with his very lovely wife and 3 adorable girls.
Phew, what a day! Back to back sessions today and I am asleep on my feet but I couldn’t resist sharing a few from this morning’s session. The session was a “new baby” gift from a very generous auntie and uncle and though I got lost on the way there (my fault for not listening to directions) I knew I was in the right house as soon as I saw daddy because he was the spitting image of his brother! I’m sure they’re tired of hearing that too.
(shameless plug) Gift sessions are super awesome and with Christmas coming around the corner, you know where I am! (end of shameless plug)
So, without further ado…
The new addition.
Giggles with the girls
One of my faves from the day. Not only is the baby’s sleepy smile sooooo sweet, but I love how the older girls are holding hands. Sweetness!
Thanks you so much for having me over today and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Another sneak peek tomorrow so visit again soon. 🙂
